Jamshedpur, Oct 18: Following three notices, the railway administration commenced a campaign to remove illegal encroachments on railway land in Adityapur Gumti Basti. On Friday, they began demolishing 56 identified houses. This initiative coincides with the railway’s efforts to upgrade the station and lay a fourth line in Adityapur, which is set to become a satellite station for Tatanagar in the future.

A railway official stated that a railway shed is planned for construction in the area. Remarkably, the operation proceeded without any untoward incidents, thanks to the robust security measures implemented by the railway authorities. Prior to the demolition, all encroachers were informed, allowing many to remove their possessions voluntarily. The systematic approach ensured minimal disruption, emphasizing the railway’s commitment to enhancing the infrastructure while addressing encroachments responsibly.
