Jamshedpur, Aug 8: After being nominated as the member of Passenger Services Committee in Indian Railway Board by the Central Government, Gurvinder Singh Sethi was accorded a grand welcome at Tatanagar railway station. The Passenger Services Committee (PSC) is a statutory Organisation body under the Ministry of Railways (Government of India). It is tasked with grievances of passengers for the ease of railway transport in India.
On reaching the city from Delhi, Sethi was given a grand welcome at the station premises. He is the only member from Jharkhand, as well as comes from the Sikh society, due to the Sikh society being elated with his appointment, Sethi has also been the Vice-Chairman in the Minorities Commission and has given the benefits of the schemes being run by the government for the minorities.
Veer Khalsa Dal State President Ravinder Singh Rinku, BJP leader Satbir Singh Somu, Minority Morcha General Secretary Chanchal Bhatia, Social worker Surendra Pal Bhatia (Titu) Sikh youth leader Inderjit Singh, many youths welcomed him with garlands. Jharkhand Pradesh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee president Sardar Shailendra Singh also welcomed him.
BJP Mandal President Hanu Jain and District General Secretary Anil Modi welcomed him at Ghoda Chowk. At Station Road Gurdwara, the Gurdwara committee welcomed him under the leadership of Mahendra Pal Singh.
Sethi said that he expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Railway Minister Ashnavi Vaishnav and assured that he would do his best to solve the problems of rail and rail passengers in Jharkhand.
