Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghuvar Das met Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry in his chamber at Project Bhavan.
Senior officials including TV Narendran, MD, Tata Steel were also present on the occasion. Reports said that the meeting between CM and Cyrus Mistry was held in a positive atmosphere. Unanimity on several points of discussion was reached.
Raising no-so-encouraging heath scenario Chief Minister Raghuvar Das during the meeting said that thousands of people go to other states for better treatment. He requested the Tata Group Chairman to open a 500-bedded hospital in Ranchi and one 300-bedded hospital at Dumka.
Das also suggested that a super-speciality hospital for cancer treatment be opened in Ranchi. On this the Tata Group chairman said that the group would take positive steps to the effect.
During the discussion the Chief Minister said that as the Government had decided to make Jamshedpur and Ranchi IT hubs, the Tata Group too could play its role to realize the objective.
Das also urged the group officials to open units of Tata Consultancy Services in Jharkhand. He said that the IT professionals who leave the State for better opportunities in other States could contribute in State’s IT growth by remaining in Jharkhand.
Speaking further the CM also urged the Tata Group Chairman to open software development centre and training centre in Jharkhand.
Cyrus Mistry has shown eagerness for constituting IIIT in the State. The CM also spoke on setting up of Institute of Fundamental Research, National Centre for Performing Arts, and suggested early completion of East-West Corridor.
With this the CM said that the Jharkhand Government would play its role to expedite the work on East-West Corridor.
Cyrus Mistry on the occasion said the Tata Group would do the needful on the proposals of the chief minister and think over them seriously.
Chief Minister later said that the government would set core committees to work further on the points discussed in the meeting. Tata Group officials and the government officials would constitute the core committee.
