Jamshedpur, March 20 : The Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan (ASA), a tribal organisation, protested against the amendments in CNT-SPT land acts, before the DC office on Monday.

The protestors submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner Amit Kumar addressed to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee seeking his intervention to cancel the destructive development model of Raghubar Das which would destroy the environmental equilibrium in the state.

According to the protestors, all tribal MLAs should rise above their respective party lines and together protest the move of the Raghubar Das government. MLAs can tender mass resignation and create a constitutional crisis-like situation. All JMM MLAs may resign from Vidhan Sabha membership.

The Abhiyan and JDP also have reservations against the domicile policy drafted by the Raghubar government in April. District-level posts would be reserved for local natives (adivasis and moolvasis) of districts only for the next 10 years, they have pointed out.

The demonstrators appealed the president to maintain status quo of village consent and village meeting (Gram Sabha).
