Mail News Service Jamshedpur, August 5: In Jharkhand, Hemant Soren may have become the Chief Minister, but in the tabs of Education Department, Raghubar Das continues to appear as the state Chief Minister. Teachers continue to mark their attendance on tablets issued to schools by the Education Department while the face of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das continues to appear on the screen as he gives the slogan-cum-message of ‘Digital India’ and Make in India.’ All this is happening even when the baton of state governance had changed hands more that 18 months ago. The irony is that the issue is related to the transmitting source, Department of School Education and Literacy Mission that is controlled by the government. According to experts, it is not that this matter is not in the notice of the government, but as soon as it came to power, the Hemant Soren government came to know about it through various sources and efforts were made to change it but Raghubar Das’ message is inbuilt in the device. In such a situation, to delete it, all the tabs will have to be sent back to the manufacturing unit. All tablets issued to schools have been switched off and the Directorate of Secondary Education issued a notification that attendance of teachers would be switched to biometric method. After this, the closed tablets were switched on again but the message of Raghubar Das as Chief Minister was heard. The leaders of the ruling party have also complained about this in the party forum. They said that the tablets should be kept off until the programme was changed.
