‘Ghayal Hoon, Isliye Ghatak Hoon’, Says Raghav Chadha

New Delhi (IANS): AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Saturday struck back against “false and coordinated allegations” from fellow party leaders, claiming the accusations seek to silence his voice in Parliament.

In a defiant video posted on X, Chadha labeled the attacks a “scripted campaign” designed to damage his reputation. “This is not a coincidence, but a coordinated attack using identical language and accusations,” he stated.

Initially choosing silence, Chadha explained that he felt compelled to speak out because “when lies are repeated 100 times, people may begin to believe them as truth.

Chadha Rebuts Three Key Allegations

The AAP leader addressed specific claims used by critics to demand his suspension from parliamentary debates:

  1. Parliamentary Walkouts: Critics claimed Chadha remained seated during Opposition walkouts. He dismissed this as “completely false” and challenged critics to check the CCTV footage for clarity.

  2. The Impeachment Motion: Regarding his alleged refusal to sign an impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner, Chadha clarified that no leader ever asked him—formally or informally—to sign it. He noted that six or seven other AAP MPs also did not sign, yet the party has singled him out.

  3. Allegations of Fear: Chadha refuted claims that he acts out of fear, asserting that he chooses impact over disruption. “I am not in Parliament to create ruckus or break mics; I am there to raise the issues of the people,” he said.

A Focus on Policy, Not Ruckus

Chadha highlighted his parliamentary record, noting his advocacy on GST, Punjab’s water concerns, Delhi’s air pollution, and often-ignored topics like menstrual health. He maintained that he respects the taxpayers’ money used to run Parliament by focusing on constructive debate.

Concluding with a stern warning, Chadha remarked: “Kyunki main ghayal hoon, isliye ghatak hoon” (Because I am wounded, I am lethal).
