Jamshedpur : RAF battalion 106 has been declared best in financial discipline and management at a grand function held at RAF 101 battalion grounds in Allahabad.
The RAF battalion 106 commandant, Sanjay Kumar was given the trophy in a function attended by Union minister of state for home affairs R P N Singh, DG CRPF Dilip Trivedi and DG RAF Ajit Kulshreshta’s participation.
The RAF IG RN Mishra, who had visited Sundernagar grounds of the battalion in May this year, praised the battalion for being number one unit in the country.
In Sundernagar, in the southern periphery of the Steel City, RAF battalion 106 has always played a crucial role in restoration of law and order in the city and its adjoining towns whenever lawlessness prevailed.
In 2011, when the city was under the grip of vector-borne diseases the jawans of the local RAF battalion were seen on the street corners with brooms. The gesture of the RAF battalion 106 was then appreciated by both the district administration and the denizens.
