Racket helping Naxalites get bail through forged documents busted

Accused persons forged documents to help Naxalites, criminals: SP Mahatha

Chaibasa, Jan 10: West Singhbhum police here on Friday busted a gang engaged in forging documents to help Naxalites get bail by arresting three of its members. The kingpin of the racket however managed to give police a slip. Police have found out his name and address, said Amar Pandey, sub divisional police officer (SDPO), Chaibasa.

Those arrested were identified as Ram Avtar Ram Ravi, Mohan Singh Purty and Rajan Kumar.

�SP Indrajeet Mahatha had got a tip-off about several people running illegal business of preparing fake Aadhar and voter cards at Sangita Digital Studio. A police team was sent to the studio for investigation. It was found out that the studio owner Ram Avtar Ram was running the illegal activity of forging documents with his associates. The racket kingpin Mohammad Sazid could not be arrested,� said the SDPO.

Police confiscated fake SIM cards, ATM cards, Aadhar cards and voter cards along with computers and other belongings. A bike was also seized by them.

During interrogation, cops found out that the racket helped many Naxalites and criminals get bail on the basis of fake documents. The illegal activity was on for the last three years.

According to SP Indrajeet Mahatha, an interrogation of all accused was on to find out further details about their various illegal activities.
