Jamshedpur: R.A. Sehgal, father of senior Tata Steel official Rajesh Sehgal, passed away on April 16, 2026. He was 91 years old. A veteran of the steel industry, he leaves behind a legacy defined by professional dedication and integrity.
Family members will perform his last rites at Parvati Ghat tomorrow, April 17, at approximately 3:00 pm.
R.A. Sehgal earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from BIT Sindri before joining Tata Steel in the mid-1960s as a Graduate Trainee. He served the organization for several decades, earning the respect of colleagues as a disciplined and principled professional.
He is survived by his only son, Rajesh Sehgal. Friends, family, and well-wishers have extended their deep condolences and support to the bereaved family.
The family will hold the Chautha and Uthala ceremony on April 18 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Arya Samaj, Tapti Road, Jamshedpur.
