Purulia-Anand Vihar Express Hits the Tracks

LHB Rake Prepared at Tatanagar Depot

Jamshedpur/Purulia: In a major boost to South Eastern Railway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially flagged off the Purulia-Anand Vihar Terminal Weekly Express via video conferencing. The new service is set to provide significant relief to passengers traveling between West Bengal, Jharkhand, and the national capital.

Tatanagar’s Role: The LHB Advantage

A standout feature of this new service is the use of modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) rakes, which were meticulously prepared at the Tatanagar Coach Depot. Known for their superior safety features—specifically their anti-telescopic properties that prevent coaches from piling up during accidents—LHB rakes also offer a more comfortable and quieter ride at higher speeds.

The expertise of the Tatanagar Depot will soon extend to other regional routes. Railway authorities confirmed that work has already commenced to equip the Tata-Godda and Tata-Jaynagar Weekly Express trains with similar LHB rakes.

Route and Schedule (Train No. 04020)

Initially running as a special service, the train covers a comprehensive route across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, including major pilgrimage and commercial hubs.

  • Departure: Leaves Purulia at 2:30 PM.
