CM inspects fringe areas, asks administration to focus on cleanliness

Jamshedpur, Feb. 13: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday inspected several areas under Jamshedpur East constituency during his visit to the city and directed the district authorities to focus on cleanliness in each and every area of the city and ensure that the streets are kept clean. He said people were increasingly becoming aware of cleanliness and its importance.
Das went to Birsanagar and interacted with several local residents to discuss development issues. He asked the special officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee to prosecute those throwing water on the city roads.
Earlier, the CM worshipped Lord Shiva at the Bhalubasa Shitla Mandir on the occasion of Shivaratri. He was accompanied by his family members and close relatives. He said he had prayed for the peace and prosperity of the people of Jharkhand and the country.
Talking to the people, Das said the government is committed to the development of Jharkhand with special focus on cleanliness and infrastructure. He said it was the government�s priority to see people reap the benefits of various welfare schemes.
Das further said the government would work efficiently to ensure speedy development, providing basic amenities and improving policing.
He also said that providing a corruption free governance was his foremost priority. He also emphasised that his government would practice full accountability. He said rapid development would be ensured by utilizing the abundance of natural resources in the state.
Expressing confidence to achieve government�s target of making the state open defecation free (ODF) by 2018, Das noted that the state�s leading private sector units have been asked to join hands for constructing toilets in rural pockets of two districts of East Singhbhum and West Singhbhum under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
�We have asked companies to construct toilets in rural pockets which are yet to have the facility through their CSR spending. We are committed to make the state ODF by 2018 and we will also take help from corporate sectors in achieving this objective which would see construction of around 30 lakh toilets across the state,� said Das.
