Jamshedpur, Aug 8: The Mass Communications Department of Karim City College, under the aegis of SPICMACAY hosted internationally acclaimed creator of Satwick Veena Pandit Salil Bhatt and tabaliya Pandit Kaushik Kunwar for a lecture demonstration of classical music. In fact, Pandit Salil Bhatt unraveled the aesthetics of Indian classical music and proved yet again why this genre of music is followed so intently the world over.

Pt Bhatt explained the importance and relevance of classical music and te various ragas and reproduced them captivatingly on his Satwick Veena. It may be mentioned here that Pt Salil Bhatt is the son of Padma Shri and Grammy Award recipient Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.
Bharati Banerjee, Coordinator of SPICMACAY and Rajesh were present on the occasion. Dr Md Rias presented bouquets to the musicians as a token of welcome.

The programme was organized by Head of the Department of Mass Communications Dr Neha Tiwary, Dr C Bhaskar Rao, Sayad Sajid Parvez, Sayad Shahzeb Parvez, and other teachers. The Heads of Departments of Arts, Science and Commerce Dr Indrasen Singh, Dr Aftab Alam Khan and Dr Aftab Alam Ansari along with faculty members were present at the musical evening.
