Jamshedpur, May 2: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said on Monday that it was the priority of his government to include electricity and water in basic infrastructure.

Das said that underground cabling has started in Jamshedpur, Ghatshila and Musabani. Under this scheme, villages and 31,000 BPL families will be given free electricity.

He said that by March 2018, every village will be electrified. Where electrification work has not been done, those areas will be illuminated with solar energy. The CM was speaking it while inaugurating Rural Electrification Work in East Singhbhoom under Dindayal Upadhayay Gram Jyoti Yojana.

According to Das, soon NTPC and Jharkhand Electricity Board will generate 4000 MW electricity at Patratu in a joint venture. Under this scheme, 2600 MW electricity will be generated by 2019-20 and the remaining 1400 MW will be produced by 2022.

Moreover, the govt. is working on an ambitious plan of producing 1800 MW electricity in joint venture with TVNL through Open Bid Global Tender. It will be a step forward to make the state a power hub. He said that the farmers will also be supplied with 3 phase electricity. It has been provisioned under Atal Gramin Vidyut Yojana to supply three phase electricity.

The local MLA should select 50 such villages where only one phase of electricity is being supplied currently and connect them with remaining two phases. One-time free connection should be provided in such places and 63/100 MVA transformer installation will be installed.

Tilka Manjhi Krishi Pump Yojana will be run separately from another feeder to help Lift Irrigation work properly. He said that in the coming 4 years, all 25/15/16 MVA transformers will be replaced with 100 and 63 MVA transformers.

The CM said that electricity is an essential component of development and his govt. is committed to provide 24×7 hr electricity unrestricted.

He said that after being sworn in, his government took the charge of improving basic infrastructure. Das claimed that they have achieved remarkable milestones during the 15 months of governance. Inter-state roads, district roads and block roads have been constructed and repaired.

Moreover, the government focuses on rural areas. Every MLA can recommend for construction of 35 km quality roads to make all corners of the state accessible.

As decided in Yojana Banao Abhiyan, 1 lakh dovas and 2,000 ponds will be dug by June 15. He appealed to people to resolute to save rain water and not waste it. He said that farmers should give proposals of more dovas.
