Jamshedpur, July 12: During a meeting of the Majhi Paragna of 35 Mauja on Monday at Jehernath in Karandih it was decided to protest the formation of a municipal corporation in Jamshedpur.
During a press meet on Monday, Dasmath Hansda of Torof Paragna said, “Jamshedpur comes under Fifth Schedule and at any cost we won’t allow formation of a municipal corporation.
These days chief Minister Raghubar Das is planning Greater Jamshedpur and soon a delegation of Majhi Paragna Mahal will meet the Chief Minister and Governor in Ranchi and would submit a memorandum opposing the municipal corporation in Jamshedpur.”
Significantly, citing the Fifth Schedule, Hansda had earlier opposed the panchayat elections in the region, but once the election was concluded development work in the villages have been accelerated.
