Jamshedpur, Sep 22: Members of Birsa Sena, a city-based outfit, Thursday protested against the conduct of Tata Steel Apprentice entrance exam outside Jharkhand. They said the exam should not be organized in other states and that only those having domicile status in Jharkhand should be allowed to take it.

The outfit founder Dinkar Kachhap and other members Thursday met the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum and handed over a memorandum to her to apprise her of their demands. He said the Kurmi community was organizing Rail Roko agitation in three states for the last three days. Trains and buses have been cancelled at various places and hence it is not possible for local candidates to go to other states for writing the exam, he said.

The outfit members said the entrance exam should only be organized in Jharkhand.
