Jamshedpur, June 28: The Railway Men’s Union will hold a protest against the move to privatize the railways at the Chakradharpur Railway Division on Wednesday, June 29. The protestors will lay siege to the Chakradharpur Railway Division office.
Divisional Convener of the Railway Men’s Union, Jawahar Lal said that the privatization of railways is being opposed by the Men’s Union since the beginning of the move to privatize the railways. He said that the government’s move would jeopardize the very existence of the railways and would have a negative impact on employment. Jawaharlal said, “Arbitrariness will increase if the railways go to private hands. Already, many posts have been surrendered by the Raiways and many others are in the waiting list.”
The Railway Men’s Federation had given a call for protests, demonstrations by besieging Railway Divisional Headquarters across the country. The Federation has urged all railway workers to take leave from their duties to join the protests.
