Project Parakh at govt schools in Jamshedpur

Weekly exams to drive away fear, mistakes rectified 

Jamshedpur, June 25 : Following guidelines of Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum and with the initiative of Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, project ‘Parakh: Study and Sports’ initiative was started in government schools of the district.

It started in 147 schools in the district. Weekly examination of Mathematics subject was conducted in high schools. Out of the total 14,000 children enrolled, 80 percent children appeared in the examination.

A lot of enthusiasm was seen in the children regarding the examination. After the examination, the result of the children was also declared. It is to be known that the question paper pattern was prepared by the team of skilled teachers keeping in mind the annual examination of the school.

Also, after the test, the pattern of the question paper and the correct answer were told to the children by the teachers. In many schools, the children performed well, while the children whose numbers were less, were motivated by the concerned subject teachers to make further improvements by informing them of their mistakes.

Deputy Development Commissioner inspected the examination centers of Jamshedpur Girls Plus Two High School, Sakchi, People’s Academy Plus Two High School, New Baradwari, Harijan High School, Bhalubasa under the urban area and instilled enthusiasm in the children.

The Deputy Development Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the preparations made for the weekly examination in such a short time. In a conversation with the children, he said that children of government schools should never consider themselves inferior to anyone. Take advantage of the facilities that the government is giving you, you have done better in the past also, there is a need to improve it further.

He said that weekly exams are being conducted to drive away any kind of fear about the exams, to give the right direction to the preparation of the board exams.

“For any kind of problem in understanding the subjects, ask your teachers not once but again and again. Come to school on time, in school dress, to remain disciplined, to keep the school premises clean, to do self-study for at least two hours daily and to participate actively in sports activities” he suggested.
