Jamshedpur : In a shocking incident an under trial prisoner died at Ghaghidih Central Jail under mysterious circumstances on Friday morning. Anil Mishra (64), a resident of Chand Mohammedpur police station area at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh died this morning.
Mishra was lodged in the central jail after his arrest by the railway police from Tatanagar area three months ago. Today was taken to the prison hospital inside the jail premises, but considering his deteriorating condition he was rushed to MGM Medical College and Hospital emergency where he was declared as brought dead.
Though a post-mortem is yet to be conducted on the body of the deceased, jailer Satyendra Chowdhury of Ghaghidih Central Jail has claimed it to be a case of heart attack. The jailer said that from the preliminary medical report, the undertrial prisoner has died of a massive heart attack.
According to sources in the Tatanagar railway police, the deceased was arrested under Sections 328 and 379 and facing trial in the civil court.
