Jamshedpur, Dec 26: The body of a priest of a Shiv Temple was recovered from behind CRPF camp in Matamkadih under Chowka thana area in Chandil sub-divison of Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The priest identified as Bhavatosh Sharma, a resident of Madha Basti near Chowka-Kandra road was killed after being bludgeoned with stone and pierced with a trishul and the culprit had fled toward the forest region after committing the crime as the villagers tried to chase the culprit but could not catch up with him.
The police reached the spot and after questioning the relatives including the deceased’s son Avinash Sharma sent the body for autopsy to Seraikela sadar hospital. On the complaint of the deceased’s son an FIR was lodged at Chowka thana against Baskey Majhi and the accused was always threatening the deceased for some old enmity.
Chowka thana OC Prakash Yadav said that they have traced the culprit and would be arresting him soon.
