President Droupadi Murmu will perform puja at Dishom Jaherthan in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: President Droupadi Murmu will visit the Dishom Jaherthan courtyard in Karandih on Monday morning. Her arrival will be welcomed with the beats of traditional instruments like the Mandar and Nagada, and the tune of the Sendra. In the Jaherthan courtyard, the President will first worship Marang Buru, Jaher Aayo, and village deities.

She will pay tribute to Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the creator of the Olchiki script, by garlanding his statue, said members of the All India Santali Writers Association and the Dishom Jaherthan Committee at a joint press conference at the Dishom Jaherthan grounds in Karandih.

General Secretary of All India Santali Writers Association Ravindra Murmu said that the ceremony will honor the contributions made to the enrichment and development of the Ol Chiki script. The President will personally honor 12 distinguished individuals at the event.

Present at the press conference were Jiren Xavier Topno, Shankar Hembram, Mansingh Manjhi, Kushal Hansda of the Tata Steel Foundation, DPRO Panchanan Oraon, and others. A Tribal Book Fair and Indigenous Short Film Festival were held at the Jaherthan campus on Saturday. Tribal book sellers from several states participated in the book fair.
