Jamshedpur: In view of the proposed visit of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, to Jamshedpur on February 26, the district administration has intensified preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme and maintain law and order.
Kolhan Division Commissioner Raviranjan Kumar Vikram chaired a high-level review meeting with Deputy Commissioner Karan Satyarthi, Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, and other administrative and police officials at the Assembly Hall. The Commissioner also inspected the event venue and took stock of the ongoing arrangements.
The President is scheduled to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust during her visit. Considering the importance of the event, the Commissioner directed officials to ensure that all arrangements are made in line with the dignity of the Chief Guest.
During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed the layout plan, stage arrangements, seating facilities for visitors, security measures, and progress of tent construction. He issued instructions to ensure proper entry and exit points, adequate barricading, availability of drinking water, clean toilets, uninterrupted electricity supply, fire safety measures, and clearly marked emergency exits.
Emphasising security, he directed officials to coordinate closely with security agencies and prepare a comprehensive plan for VIP movement, including route management, traffic control, and crowd regulation. He also instructed that special attention be given to cleanliness and beautification of the venue, with a strict ban on the use of plastic in and around the programme site.
The Commissioner stressed the need for close coordination among all departments to ensure the successful organisation of the event.
Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Arnab Mishra, along with other senior officials and members of the organising committee, were present during the meeting and inspection.
