Ranchi, June 20: Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma directed to prepare agriculture scheme at village level to promote agriculture.
She said that against the targeted 65,000, 57,624 youths have been selected in agriculture area and out of the selected youths, 40,000 have been trained. She said it while addressing the KVK, ATMA and Cooperative officers through video conferencing.
The CS directed the officers to prepare village level data by 30 June and ensure the proportion of barren / unfertile land in a village. She also directed to make a data of agricultural land and availability of seeds with farmers so that maximum village land can be covered with agriculture.
She said to grow buckwheat and pigeon pea on barren land. ARYA should ascertain that the seeds are utilized by the farmers. She directed to prepare 25 seed villages with 50 hectare land. She directed to promote farmers for growing two crops and asked to prepare work plan so that no barren land remains in KVK catchment areas.
The CS said that the state has targeted to insure 10 lac farmers under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana. Only 58,000 farmers have got Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema insured. She said to include Krishi mitra in this work to achieve the target by 31st July. She directed to hold camp and advertize extensively to achieve the target.
