Ranchi: As the winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly approaches, scheduled to commence from 15th December, meticulous preparations are in place to ensure the smooth functioning of the House. The Assembly officers and employees are putting in concerted efforts day and night to facilitate the successful conduct of the session.
In light of the upcoming session, Speaker Rabindranath Mahato has convened an all-party meeting on 14th December to discuss the agenda for the six-day winter session. Additionally, a high-level meeting with state officials has been scheduled, commencing at 11:30 am. Notably, this marks the first time in the fifth Assembly that the Leader of the Opposition will be present in this meeting.
Given the recent incident in the Lok Sabha audience gallery, special security arrangements are anticipated for the Jharkhand Assembly’s winter session. The issue will be addressed in the scheduled meetings, according to Assembly Secretary in-charge Javed Haider. Moreover, considerations will be made for online participation in the session, allowing absent members to submit questions electronically.
The upcoming session is slated to span six working days, during which the government aims to present multiple bills on the House floor. Of particular note, the Localism Bill, previously returned by the Governor, will be reintroduced for deliberation during this winter session. As the session approaches, the focus is on ensuring robust security measures and a conducive environment for legislative proceedings.
