Preparations underway for Jamshedpur Women’s University’s third convocation at XLRI auditorium on Nov 19

Jamshedpur, November 6:  Preparations for the third convocation of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) are in full swing. To ensure smooth management of the grand event, a detailed practice session was held at the XLRI Auditorium on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta. The convocation is scheduled for November 19, 2025.

During the rehearsal, all formal sequences of the convocation — including the academic parade, convocation pledge, presentation of degrees, and stage management — were practiced in a disciplined and cordial manner. Vice Chancellor Dr. Gupta inspected the arrangements and provided valuable guidance to faculty members and students to ensure that every segment of the ceremony proceeds flawlessly.

Senior university officials including Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Kishwar Ara, Registrar Dr. Salomi Kujur, Controller of Examinations Rama Subramaniam, Finance Officer Dr. Javed Ahmed, Development Officer and Chairman of the Sports and Culture Committee Dr. Sanatan Deep, IQAC Director Dr. Ratna Mitra, Dean of Humanities Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sahu, and Dean of Commerce Dr. Deepasharan, along with heads of departments and other faculty members, were present during the session.

Prior to this, several meetings were held to review the preparations, with the Vice Chancellor personally monitoring the progress of all committees involved. The university administration is making every effort to ensure the event’s success.

The Third Convocation will be held at XLRI, with Governor and Chancellor Dr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar expected to grace the occasion. Students from undergraduate, postgraduate, PG vocational, and M.Ed. programs will be conferred degrees and awards. Sixteen undergraduate vocational rank holders and 25 postgraduate toppers will be specially honored.

The title of Overall Best Graduate will be awarded to Soma Bera from the BCA department. Shraddha Sinha will receive the Rekha Jha Excellence Award in Economics, which includes a certificate and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

Established in 1953, Jamshedpur Women’s University has produced many accomplished alumni, and the upcoming convocation symbolizes its continued commitment to excellence and empowerment.
