Premium Fuels Costlier; Regular Petrol and Diesel Prices Steady

New Delhi (IANS): PSU oil marketing giant Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has raised the prices of its premium fuels in the national capital, though prices for standard auto fuels remain unchanged.

IOC now prices XP100 petrol at Rs 160 per litre, up from Rs 149. Luxury vehicle owners and high-performance motorcyclists typically use this high-octane fuel to boost engine efficiency. Similarly, the company increased the price of Xtra Green diesel (premium diesel) to Rs 92.99 per litre in Delhi, up from Rs 91.49.

In contrast, regular petrol and diesel prices remained stable across major Indian cities. Despite rising global crude oil benchmarks fueled by West Asian tensions, oil marketing companies have opted not to hike standard auto fuel rates.

Fuel Rates at a Glance

City Regular Petrol (per litre) Regular Diesel (per litre)
Delhi Rs 94.72 Rs 87.62
Mumbai Rs 103.44 Rs 89.97

While auto fuels held steady, other petroleum products saw sharp increases. Commercial LPG prices jumped by Rs 195.50 per cylinder, and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) rates more than doubled, surpassing the Rs 2 lakh per kilolitre mark.

The global market remains volatile as conflict persists in West Asia. While President Donald Trump suggested that the American military might halt attacks on Iran within three weeks—offering a glimmer of de-escalation—Iran countered with warnings. Tehran stated that prominent American corporations could face retaliation if the U.S. continues to target key Iranian figures.

Despite these uncertainties and shipping disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, Indian retail petrol and diesel prices have yet to budge.
