Jamshedpur, March 1: Tata Steel has constructed a new building for Prem Jyoti Prangan School, a school dedicated to children from the under-privileged section of the society previously housed inside the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Located near the old BSNL office in Northern Town, the school has been built on a 1.2 acre plot to provide 13 smart classrooms, science and computer labs and a library, which is housed in two floors covering around 17,000 sqft built-up area.

The new campus provides ample spaces for greenery, parking and a playground, ensuring a spacious and conducive atmosphere for upto 600 students.

The facility is equipped with comprehensive fire detection, fire alarm and firefighting systems, prioritizing safety and compliance with modern building standards.

This initiative will reinforce efforts to create Jamshedpur as a Child Labour Free Zone and make quality education available for the disadvantaged section of society in line with Tata Steel’s dedication to responsible corporate citizenship and its commitment to community welfare.

The building has been inaugurated by Ananya Mittal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum in the presence of Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President Corporate Services, Ruchi Narendran, Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL, Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers’ Union alongwith other officials of Tata Steel, TSUISL and Prem Jyoti Prangan School.
