Winter chill fails to deter spirit of students

Jamshedpur, Dec. 28: Winter chill couldnt hamper the spirit of Steel City students as thousands turned up for the final day of ‘Wheels 2020’ prelims on Saturday, December 28.

The prelims concluded amid much fanfare with students displaying their creativity in eight events. Students displayed their talent during the three-day prelims.

Students were in attendance at Hill Top School, Management Training Centre, Engineers Hall, Telco Recreation Centre (TRC) and Telco Ground before the start of the events on Saturday.

The day started with Rangsaji at Hill Top School where participants unleashed their painting talent which made the whole ambience colourful.

‘Yes your Honor’ event at Management Training Centre saw students prove their worth in a competitive event as a detective and as a lawyer.

The next event Vakrita at Management Training Centre saw participants deliver powerful speech. The event gave the students a platform to hone their oratory skills.
Scavenger Hunt event at Parking Lot tested the mettle and skills of the participants. Students had to solve mind boggling clues and hunt down the hidden treasure. This event drew maximum students.

‘Alfaz’ a poetry competition was conducted which provided an opportunity to each and every student to present verse to the admiring audience.

Just-A-Minute (or JAM) an all-round-fun event at Badminton Court was all about the control of the mind over the mouth. Students were asked to make it through sixty seconds of non-stop talking without hesitation, repetition, or deviation.

An event with passion, the ‘Hustle’ to perform like a star was conducted on the final day. Rapping has become the most trending musical form nowadays. With every Bollywood movie incomplete without a rap song, lets see who will become the Gully Boy or Gully Girl of our Town. In hustle, children prepared their own Rap and some sang any rap of their choice.

The prelims concluded with Battle of Bands event at Telco Recreation Centre. Students competed with bands from in and around Jamshedpur and shared the stage with the finest musicians.

Like every year, Wheels will also hold a Marathon.

Organised by G.E.T Club ‘Wheels 2020’ involves whole hearted participation from schools all over the city of Jamshedpur. This year the theme for 33rd edition of Wheels is “Aarohan-Ascending Towards Goals.”

After the prelims 500 students have qualified for the finals which will be held in January 2020.
