Jamshedpur, Nov 14: Citing respect for Gurus and adherence to Rahat Maryada, Sikh preacher Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri has submitted a memorandum to the Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC), urging a ban on the use of Siropa and Guru images on hoardings during Prakashotsav.
Harvinder Singh met CGPC Pradhan Bhagwan Singh, emphasizing that Siropa should be awarded thoughtfully rather than indiscriminately. Additionally, he advocated against displaying imaginary images of Gurus on public hoardings and tents, stating that no individual should receive personal honors on the day dedicated to Guru Sahib’s arrival.
He also called for a complete ban on fireworks during Nagar Kirtan, highlighting concerns for the safety of devotees and environmental impact.
