Jamshedpur, June 18: Pre-monsoon showers have commenced across Jharkhand, including Kolhan, bringing relief to residents amid persistent humidity. While some districts experienced light rainfall over the past two days, the atmosphere remained humid. On Tuesday, several districts, including Garhwa, Palamu, and Hazaribagh, recorded heatwave conditions, with Garhwa reaching a high of 43.7 degrees Celsius. In Jamshedpur, temperatures ranged from 24.2 to 38.2 degrees Celsius, while Ranchi recorded 37.5 degrees, Saraikela 38.9 degrees, and West Singhbhum 37.7 degrees Celsius.

Forecast for the next two days: A yellow alert has been issued for heatwave conditions in north-western and adjacent northern regions of the state, including Palamu, Garhwa, and Latehar, on June 19. Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected on Wednesday and Thursday in various parts of Jharkhand, with wind speeds reaching 40-50 km per hour.
Monsoon Update: The Meteorological Department reported the formation of a cyclonic circulation in northeastern Assam, causing southwest winds from the Bay of Bengal to move towards Jharkhand. This circulation has led to light to moderate rainfall in most parts of the state. Favorable monsoon conditions were anticipated to develop in Jharkhand within the next four days, aligning with similar developments in Bihar.
