Jamshedpur: The director of the Department of Information and public relations Avadhesh Kumar Pandey today paid visit to the office of DPRD (District Public Relations Department), East Singhbhum, and took stock of the problems being faced by the officials.
Speaking to scribes after the visit, Pandey said the department was keen on ensuring that the relationship between the DPRD staff and mediapersons remained harmonious and smooth. The benefits of good relationships will be reaped by both the officials as well as the mediapersons, he sdaid.
Pandey sought suggestions from journalists for improving the functioning of the DPRD in East Singhbhum and assured to implement the same in a bid to improve the performance of the department.
Pandey admitted that there was a scarcity of staff in the DPRD which will soon be removed through recruitment of staff on contract basis on 12 posts. A review of the staff crisis has been done at secretary level. A decision will soon be taken in this regard, he said.
Pandey further said that a room will be made ready with facilities like Internet, scanner and computer for the help of mediapersons. A detailed project report has been sought for the said facility, he said.
The director said the DPRD in East Singhbhum was yet to do a lot of work to meet the target given to it by the state government.
The DPRD staff need to achieve the target by spending more money allotted for the purpose of informing the people of the state about the achievements of the state government and keep them abreast of the various development and welfare projects being run in the state.
Pandey said the DPRD was asked to organize streetplays to create awareness among the people on various issues and government schemes. There is no dearth of funds and the department will soon achieve its target, he said.
