Chaibasa, April 7: Ma Mathurasini was worshipped with absolute piety at the Chaibasa Mahuri Bhawan. Mahuri Vaishya Mandal and Mahuri Vaishya Mahila Samiti offered 56 items (Chhappan bhog) of food for consecration of the Goddess. Navyuvak Samiti president Sarvesh Prasad arranged for the rice pudding (kheer) for offering to the deity. Special care was taken to enforce all COVID protocols at the puja mandap.
Prayer rituals commenced early in the morning on Wednesday. Hawan was lit and devotees prayed for peace and joy of the community members and eradication of coronavirus. Milling crowds of men, women and children marked the occasion. The idol of Ma Mathurasini was immersed at 4 pm in the Jubilee Lake. Umesh Prasad, Siddharth Prasad and priest Nityanand Pandey played a big role in ensuring smooth management. It was informed by a member of the managing committee that the idol of Ma Mathurasini was being crafted by clay artist Nand Kishor since the past 18 years.
