Prayers held across Jharkhand as Ramdas Soren remains critical

 

 

Jamshedpur: The health condition of Jharkhand Education Minister and senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Ramdas Soren continues to remain critical, according to sources at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi, where he has been undergoing treatment since Saturday. The 62-year-old legislator from Ghatsila was airlifted from Jamshedpur after sustaining serious head injuries from a fall in the washroom at his residence.

Soren, a prominent political figure known for his grassroots connect and work in education and tribal welfare, has been on life support since his admission to the Delhi hospital. A multidisciplinary team of senior specialists, including neurologists and critical care experts, is closely monitoring his condition round-the-clock.

On Sunday, members of the Surda Crossing Dishom Jahergarh Committee, along with leaders of JMM and the RASA Committee, gathered at the Dishom Jahergarh Surda Crossing to pray for Soren’s recovery. Following tribal traditions, prayers were offered to Marang Buru, Jaher Ayo, Mode, Turuy, and Gosade, seeking the blessings of the creator for the minister’s health and speedy return to public life. Community members took a vow for his recovery, expressing hope that he would soon resume his social and political responsibilities.

The prayer gathering saw the participation of several prominent figures, including JMM central committee member Kanhu Samant, Musabani block president Pradhan Soren, secretary Maheshwar Hansda, treasurer Paluram Majhi, ST district president Lovin Sabar, Somay Soren, Gaurang Mahali, Ganesh Tudu, Arjun Mardi, Priyanath Baske, Aman Murmu, Somay Tudu, Sanjivan Patar, Viram Murmu, Mohan Murmu, Dishom Jahergarh Nayak Baba Mukru Hembram, president Arjun Majhi, secretary Subhash Murmu, treasurer Kanhai Murmu, vice president Singrai Hembram, advisory committee members Dhano Murmu, Goda Soren, Gopal Murmu, Shyam Murmu, Mitesh Hansda, Suresh Hansda, Sunil Murmu, RASAA vice president Ganesh Chandra Murmu, and Rajaram, among others from social, religious, political, and tribal organisations.

Messages of concern and solidarity have been pouring in from across the state. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, and members of other communities have been offering prayers in temples, mosques, churches, and gurudwaras for the minister’s recovery. Supporters and well-wishers in Ghatsila, Jamshedpur, and other parts of Jharkhand have expressed optimism that Soren will soon return to public life.

Party members and colleagues from across political lines have also voiced their concern. Leaders described Soren as a dedicated public servant whose work in improving educational access and protecting tribal rights has earned him widespread respect.

As the state anxiously awaits further medical updates, the atmosphere in his constituency remains sombre but hopeful. Officials close to the minister have reiterated appeals to the public and media to rely only on verified medical bulletins and avoid circulating unconfirmed information.
