Jamshedpur, Aug 31: Former President Pranab Mukherjee�s death today drew eulogies from leaders across party lines. An astute statesman, known as a man who �called a spade a spade� without mincing words, he earned many friends even among his detractors. A revered politician who embellished dignity to all the posts he held and served with distinction, his death has pulled down the curtains on a career that clipped many rough edges of the political blanket to a smooth and unwavering dominion. Pranab Mukherjee was an erudite scholar but remained down to earth in personal life. From the common man to the political leaders, all were grief stricken at the death of a man for all political seasons.
Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das: It is a great national loss. Pranab Mukherjee was one person who looked at issues over party lines and made many complex situations look easy to resolve. He had the uncanny ability to tackle any situation. His decisions were highly respected. He was a man who commanded immediate respect for he respected all. My sympathies are with the bereaved family. I pray for the peace of his soul.
