Prakash Utsav : Team from Ranchi inspects Gopal Maidan, preparations in all swing

Jamshedpur : A team from Ranchi today inspected Gopal Maidan to review preparations the state-level Parkash Utsav from January 9 at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur to mark 350th birth anniversary of 10th Sikh guru, Gobind Singh.

The team along with DC Amit Kumar, SSP Anoop Mathew were present on the occasion.

The administration also started an awareness van from the district collectorate to inform masses about the three-day programme.

The extravaganza organised by state arts, culture, sports and youth affairs department along with East Singhbhum district administration will witness nearly 50,000 Sikh delegates. According to the information, some of the delegates will be coming from Patna and nearly 90 acclaimed artists who would be exhibiting their talents during the program culminating on January 9.

Chief minister Raghubar Das along with state sports, arts, culture and youth affairs minister Amar Kumar Bauri will be inaugurate the programme.

As per he plans, Punjabi sufi singer Wadali Brothers (Puran Chand Wadali and Pyarelal Wadali from Amritsar) and Ludhiana based sufi singer Kanwar Grewal are some of the star performers. We will also invite Bhai Jagjit Singh Dardi performing kirtan and Bhai Gurinder Singh performing nih angpradarshan (demonstration of Sikh martial arts) and an all religious conference.

Around 50,000 sq feet hangar would be constructed at the venue for the delegates along with a huge stage of nearly 2,400 sq feet. There will also be food courts for meals of delegates in nearly 24,000 sqft area.
