Saraikela, Aug 29: Sini and far and near rural areas including Jankipur, Panarol and Charakpathar are being forced to face power pangs due to the lethargic and unconcerned attitude of the electricity department officials and staff. Social worker Dipak Majhi said that people in Sini and other villages were being provided, at an average, five hours power supply that has been causing innumerable difficulties to the people. They cannot charge their mobile phones, students studies are being disturbed and the power crisis persists at a time when there is always a threat of wild elephant herds entering villages destroying crops and houses, said Majhi.

The social worker stated that even minor faults were attended to by the electricity department and the process took them 24 to 36 hours. Dipak Majhi said, The villagers have breached their limits of patience and are very angry because of the electricity departments careless and unconcerned attitude. Feeling the simmering anger, I met the departments junior engineer Sushant Hembram and he assured of ensuring proper power supply shortly. Dipak said that if there was no improvement in power supply within 72 hours, people would resort to protests at the electricity departments office.
