Jamshedpur: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a �Navratna� company and Central Transmission Utility (CTU)� of the country, has posted a net profit of Rs 1137 crore for the first quarter of FY 2014-15 (April-June, 2014), an increase of 9 per cent against Rs 1040 crore reported during the corresponding quarter ended June 30, 2013.
Total Income (turnover) for first quarter (April-June, 2014), rose to Rs 4075 crore, up by 12 per cent from Rs 3634 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.
At present, Power Grid is operating more than 109,000 ckt. Kilometres of transmission lines along with 186 Sub-stations and transforma�tion capacity of about 213,000 MVA.
The average availability during the quarter was maintained at 99.9 per cent.
