Pottery making workshop at Srinath University

Jamshedpur, May 12: The students of the Department of Fine Arts at Srinath University in Adityapur, were provided the basics of making clay and ceramic utensils during a workshop organized on Thursday, May 12.. Popular pottery and ceramic artist, Arun Kumar Mukhuty conducted the workshop among students of the Department of Fine Arts of Srinath University. Welcoming Mukhuty, Assistant Professor Nalin Chandra presented the artist with a memento.

Arun Kumar Mukhuty taught the students the art of kneading clay and making utensils. He also shared information on various techniques of preparing clay and ceramics and make clay and ceramic utensils. He himself exhibited the art of making clay utensils. The students took  keen interest in the various processes of making clay and ceramic utensils and also tried their hands in the skill.  Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Ganesh Mahto said that such workshops enhance students’ skills and boost their interest in the subjects. In addition, Ganesh Mahto stated that students also picked up several tips from experts conducting such workshops. Students and faculty members were present at the workshop.
