Potka: Sidheshwar Sardar, a resident of Potka in East Singhbhum, was felicitated in Assam for his role in uniting the Bhumij community at national level.
He is currently the national president of Bharatiya Bhumij Samaj.
Another Potka resident Sudarshan, president of All India Bhumij Tribal, was also felicitated for his contributions to the Bhumij community. The felicitation took place in Tinsukia under the aegis of Tinsukia Zila Bhumij Samman last week. Both were given appreciation letter and shield.
A total of 18 representatives from Potka participated in the felicitation programme. They returned to the city on Monday. They included Vibhishan Sardar and Sanjay Sardar.
