Potka Mukhiyas meet DC over solar scam

Jamshedpur: As many as 27 Mukhiyas of Potka block met the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum, Amit Kumar, on Monday and rebutted the allegations of corruption leveled against them in the solar light scam. They said the charges of corruption against them were unfounded and fabricated.
The DC directed the Mukhiyas to deposit the excess amount paid by them to the vendors so that the government funds are not misappropriated. He said the solar lights were purchased at prices higher than the rates recommended by the government due to ignorance, lack of training and delay in the issuance of guidelines by the government.
District secretary of East Singhbhum Panchayat Secretary Association, Manoj Sinha, said the DC had given necessary instructions to the Mukhiyas and that all issues were discussed during the meeting.
Among those present on the occasion included Ganesh Sardar, Sampat Nath Bhuiyan and Ghanshyam Mahato.
