Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar leads relief efforts for flood victims

Potka, June 30: Following the recent severe flooding in Potka block due to torrential rains, local MLA Sanjib Sardar has been involved in relief operations for the second consecutive day. On Monday, he visited several flood-affected villages including Bordih, Narada, Chirugoda, Dhengam, Janamdih, Tangarayan, and Lupung, distributing tarpaulins to over 50 needy families with support from the Tata Steel Foundation.

During his visit, Sardar emphasized the extensive damage suffered by many villages and directed the administration to ensure immediate relief support including food, clothing, and medical aid for those whose homes had been destroyed. He also instructed zonal and block-level officials to conduct prompt damage assessments to facilitate early disbursement of compensation.

Highlighting the vital role of social organizations, Sanjib Sardar praised the swift response of the Tata Steel Foundation and announced that raw ration supplies and mosquito nets would soon be distributed to affected families with their assistance.

Several local representatives and social workers participated in the ongoing relief efforts. Those present included Tata Steel Foundation Manager Shivshankar Kandeyang, Aanjikay Birua, former councilor Chandravati Mahato, Hiramani Murmu, Mukhiya Asit Sardar, JMM leader Sunil Mahato, Hitesh Bhagat, and Manoranjan Sardar. Their contributions at the grassroots level have been instrumental in ensuring that help reached those in need swiftly and effectively.
