Jamshedpur, Jan. 30: Students� Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Department (CND) and home science department of Jamshedpur Women�s College (JWC) observed �Swachhata Diwas� at the college campus on Saturday.
A poster and slogan competition was organized on the occasion to create awareness among students. Dr. Deepa Sharan and Dr. Mangala Srivastava of department of commerce were the judges for the competition.
In poster making, Babita Das and Ranju Mahato of CND -1st were declared first, while Shikha Mahato, Komal and Sweta Kumari came first, second and third respectively in the slogan contest.
The award winning slogans were �Green city, clean city,dream city�, �Go green keep the planet green,� �East and west cleaning is the best lets clean our mess with our best�, �Hum sabka ek he nara saf suthra ho desh hamara� to name a few notable slogans.
Dr. Sujata Sinha, principal, Jamshedpur Women�s College, gave her best wishes to all the participants. Dr. K. Annapurna, PG head, Dept. of Home Science, Kolhan University, successfully organized the program and said that it is the responsibility of the students� community to clean and spread this awareness in all levels. Dr. Deepa said that students must practice clean habits. Dr. Mangla also encouraged the students in this regard.
