Postal Department Extends Aadhaar Service Hours in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a major relief for Aadhaar card holders, the Jharkhand Postal Circle has extended the operating hours for Aadhaar-related services at all 13 Head Post Offices across the state, including the Head Post Office in Bistupur, Jamshedpur. The new schedule, effective immediately, will allow citizens to access Aadhaar services continuously from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The announcement was made by Chief Postmaster General Sanjeev Ranjan on Tuesday as part of the Postal Department’s efforts to improve public access to essential services.

Convenient Access to Aadhaar Enrolment and Updates

Under the revised arrangement, residents can visit the Bistupur Head Post Office for new Aadhaar enrolments as well as updates to personal details such as name, address, date of birth, and mobile number.

The extended hours are expected to significantly reduce inconvenience for citizens who previously struggled to access services during regular office timings. Officials said the move would help accommodate a larger number of applicants and reduce crowding at service centers.

Major Relief for Employees, Students and Rural Residents

The initiative is expected to benefit working professionals, school and college students, women, and people traveling from remote rural areas. Citizens can now visit the Aadhaar center either before work or in the evening without affecting their daily schedules.

The Postal Department believes the flexible timings will improve service delivery and make Aadhaar-related processes more citizen-friendly.

Expansion Planned Across Additional Major Post Offices

Officials have informed that the extended Aadhaar service model will soon be introduced at 13 additional Major Departmental Grade (MDG) post offices across Jharkhand. The expansion is aimed at strengthening public service infrastructure and ensuring wider access to Aadhaar facilities.

The department stated that the initiative will enhance the speed, convenience, and transparency of Aadhaar enrolment and update services, while helping more citizens access government-linked benefits without unnecessary delays.
