Jamshedpur, October 19: The Office of the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur, has released the detailed schedule for postal ballot and home voting for the upcoming 45-Ghatsila (Scheduled Tribe) Assembly By-Election 2025. The announcement ensures that all eligible voters, including polling personnel, police officials, essential service providers, and specially-abled voters, can cast their votes conveniently and smoothly.
According to the notification, facilitation centres (FC) and postal voting centres (PVC) have been established at Jamshedpur Women’s University, Sidgora Campus, for various categories of voters.
Postal ballot voting for polling personnel, reserve staff, sector officers, micro observers, BLOs, SST/FST/VST/VVT teams, police and home guard personnel, and others will be held at Room No. 101, Girls Hostel, Jamshedpur Women’s University, Sidgora Campus, from October 30 to 31, 2025, November 3 to 4, 2025, and November 6 to 8, 2025, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Voters from essential services (AVES) will cast their postal ballots from November 5 to 7, 2025, at Room No. 102, Girls Hostel, Jamshedpur Women’s University, Sidgora Campus. For officials of the RO Cell, Ghatsila, postal voting will be conducted at the SDO Office, Ghatsila, from November 8 to 10, 2025.
Special arrangements have been made for home voting for absentee voters such as senior citizens (AVSC) and persons with disabilities (AVPD). Home voting under Phase I will be conducted from November 2 to 7, 2025, and under Phase II from November 9 to 10, 2025, to facilitate those unable to visit polling stations.
The notification also includes provisions for district police, home guards, sector police, special branches, SAP, GRP, CTC/JAP-6/IRB-02/ACB, as well as drivers, conductors, videographers, and other staff engaged in election duty to cast their votes through postal ballots.
The District Election Officer stated that these arrangements are part of the Election Commission’s efforts to ensure inclusive, transparent, and accessible voting. The facilitation centres and home voting system have been set up so that no eligible voter is deprived of their right to vote due to duty, service, or physical limitation.
The administration has urged all eligible voters to follow the prescribed dates and timings to ensure smooth conduct of postal ballot and home voting processes.
