Pollution causing skin diseases in city: Dr Rajeev

Jamshedpur: A mega skin health camp was organized at BR Seva Sadan, Garabasa, in commemoration of late Dr RP Thakur. It began at 9.30 am and continued till 1.30 pm. More than 400 patients turned up at the camp and availed the free consultation cum check up facility. Free medicines were also provided to the patients.
The patients were examined by city-based skin specialist Dr Rajeev Thakur, son of late Dr RP Thakur, and his sister Dr Ritu Thakur. They paid homage to Dr RP Thakur who had passed away a year back on the day of his retirement.
According to Dr Rajeev, cases of skin diseases are on the rise in the city as a result of rising levels of air and water pollution. Compared to other cities, Jamshedpur has larger number of people with skin problems. He said he had sent skin samples of three patients to Mumbai for pathological test at his own expense. He said there was an urgent need to spread public awareness on skin diseases.
