Political tensions rise as Raj Bhavan’s advice sparks controversy: Supriyo Bhattacharya speaks out

Ranchi: Supriyo Bhattacharya, the JMM Central General Secretary, has raised concerns about the political implications of the advice and messages received from Raj Bhavan, stating that there is a significant political message embedded within. According to Bhattacharya, the communication from Raj Bhavan is causing confusion among the public, and he views it as a deliberate attempt to create ambiguity.

Addressing a press conference, Supriyo Bhattacharya emphasized the warmth in politics during this cold season, alluding to the nuanced developments. He cited the passage of two crucial bills in 2022, namely the Domicile Bill and the Sarna Dharma Code Bill, which were unanimously approved by the Assembly and forwarded to Raj Bhavan.

Bhattacharya expressed dissatisfaction with the advice received from Raj Bhavan on these bills, particularly regarding the provision of prioritizing local residents at the district level in third and fourth-grade appointments. He accused the Governor of introducing a twist by suggesting a five-year priority provision followed by a review, terming it a new ploy to sow confusion among the people.

Asserting the significance of the bills in preserving local identity, Bhattacharya criticized the delay in decision-making, stating that it is not appropriate for Raj Bhavan to sit on any bill for a year. He affirmed the government’s commitment to reintroduce the bills in the upcoming winter session, ensuring that no external candidates secure third and fourth-grade positions.

Supriyo Bhattacharya concluded by calling out Babulal and urging him to clarify his association with Raja Peter, hinting at potential political dynamics and underlying motivations. The unfolding controversy underscores the intricate interplay between governance, identity, and political maneuvering in the region.
