Political parties get set for Assembly elections in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Political activities reached their peak in Jharkhand with the announcement of Assembly election schedule by the Election Commission here on Saturday.

Various political parties welcomed the announcement while terming it vital for changing the fate of the state.

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha president Babulal Marandi today said the party was ready for the Assembly elections. He said the party would soon announce its election strategy.

Speaking to scribes in the state Capital after the Assembly election schedule was issued today, Marandi said the party had organized numerous conferences of party activists in the last several days. Another JVM leader Abhay Singh said the party was fully prepared to contest the elections.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders Champai Soren and Ramdas Soren said the party workers had pulled their socks for the elections. Party general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said the party workers were enthused with the announcement of the polls. He said the party was looking ahead to give its best shot in the polls.

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Annapurna Devi welcomed the announcement of polls by the Election Commission. She said the situation regarding election alliance would become clear very soon.

State Congress president Sukhdev Bhagat said the party had convened a meeting of the working committee in Ranchi on 27th October.

The assistant in-charge of the party Tarachand Bhagora will also attend the meeting. Other party leaders including national Congress spokesperson Dr Ajoy Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Pradip Kumar Balmuchu and former MP of Ranchi Subodhkant Sahay also expressed hopes for a bright future of the state post elections.
