Political parties asked to remove hoardings in 24 hours

Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration has asked all political parties to remove their hoardings, banners and graffiti within 24 hours.

The deputy commissioner Chandra Shekhar issued a notice in this regard asking the political parties to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct.

He said the administration will be taking stringent action against the parties and individuals in case they are found violating the Code.

The move is being taken to ensure free and fair election, the DC said adding that district level toll free telephone numbers will soon be issued by the district administration for redressing grievances of voters.

The DC asked political parties to make available the list of items being used by them in election campaign and their rate.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of various political parties and administration officials. The notification for the second phase Assembly polls will be issued on 7th November while the nomination will be filed till 14th November.

Nominations will be withdrawn till 17th November while the same will be scrutinized till 15th November. Ichagarh will go to polls on 9th December in the third phase.

Notification for the polls will be issued on 14th November. There are a total of 6,98,981 voters in the district including 339918 female voters and 61391 voters who are senior citizens.
