Jamshedpur: Leaders of several political parties attended the ‘shradh’ (a post-death ritual) of five times MP and four times MLA Bagun Sumbrai at Tata College Road in Chaibasa on Sunday.
JMM supremo Shibu Soren, Jharkhand Assembly speaker Dinesh Oraon, BJP state president Laxman Gilua, former chief minister Arjun Munda, Madhu Koda, Congress state president Dr. Ajoy Kumar, former MLA Dr. Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, former MP Shailendra Mahato, former Potka MLA Sanatan Majhi, MLA Deepak Birua, Joba Majhi, Mithilesh Thakur, State youth congress secretary Rakes Sahu, Usha Singh and others from different parts of the city and state attended the function and paid floral tributes to the departed soul.
Terming Bagun his political guru, Shibu Soren said, today every adivasi of Jharkhand is feeling the absence of Bagun Sumbrai, He gave a new dimension to the adivasi society and the void he has left cannot be filled. Soren further said that Bagun was a social person and used to meet every party worker with full warmth.
Bagun always worked for the betterment of the adivasis of Bihar and Jharkhand.
BJP state president Laxman Gilua said, not only Singhbhum but the whole of Jharkhand is missing the Bagun who passed away last month at TMH in Jamshedpur.
Moving ahead of politics he performed his social duties for the betterment of the people of the region. Not only a party but the whole society is mourning the death of the tallest leader in Jharkhand politics. Other leaders also praised his personality.
