Jamshedpur, Dec. 15: In a major breakthrough the police recovered the abducted crusher plant owner by arresting criminals involved in the crime by raiding an isolated place inside Chowka jungle in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district today.
Those arrested were identified as Gangadhar Singh Munda (40), PoshoMahato (35) and Vijay Singh Munda (34), all residents of Jhabri village in Chowka.
Seraikela-Kharsawan district superintendent of police, IndrajeetMahatha said that in all five criminals, one of them having naxal background, were involved in the abduction of the crusher plant owner PawanSahu. He said two of the accused, identified as Bhota Singh and his friend have managed to flee.
Mahatha said that they succeeded to solve the case by putting the district police’s cyber cell in action.Hesaid that they had suspicion over Gangadhar Singh Munda, who has a naxal background and therefore they were following him closely.
The SP said that Munda was the mastermind behind the abduction of the crusher plant owner. He said the abductors had the impression that Sahu was a rich person and therefore they had conspired his abduction despite the fact that his crusher plant was closed due to absence of environmental clearance.
According to information, the victim, PawanSahu, was returning home in a car from Jamshedpur at about 10 pm, the victim’s family received a ransom call at about 10.45 pm. Sources informed that abductors have threatened them with dire consequences in the event of informing the police in detection the victim.
Seraikela-Kharsawan superintendent of police IndrajeetMahatha had confirmed about the abduction of the crusher plant owner. He went on to add that the police are not aware how Sahu was abducted The victim’s elder brother RamdevSahu had received a ransom call. Mahatha said that they suspected it to be naxals because the caller who made the ransom call had introduced himself to be a member of the party.
He pointed out that the police have put the cyber cell in action and trying to locate the place where the victim might have been kept. Sahu is originally from Bihar, but he stays with his elder brother Ramdev, an ex-Army man, at a house near the crusher plant in Chowka.
Police said that the security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the ultras. Sources informed that the police have decided to ensure strict vigil and deploy additional security forces in the fringe areas.
