Jamshedpur, March 10: Police continues to closely monitor the illegal sale of liquor throughout Jamshedpur. Acting tough against the sale of liquor in the city, DSP (CCR) Janchitha Karketta, City SP Karthik S. along senior police officials conducted raids at illegal joints in Bistupur and Sakchi.
Regularly getting information about the youth unlawfully consuming alcohol at several illegal joints near Gopal Maidan in Bistupur and also in Sakchi, the team conducted raid which created rush among the teenagers and several office personnel who after work enjoy the evening out there.
Several of tipplers ran away from the scene leaving their vehicles behind which were seized by the police while some of the tipplers were arrested. As soon as the alcoholics saw the police coming they left their vehicles on the spot and ran away while the most happening place near the Gopal Miadan, the juice shops which serves alcohol were also seized. According to reports police has few locations under its radar that are possible targets in next raids.
